Over the years, your teeth can suffer tooth wear either through tooth grinding, acid erosion, or normal “wear and tear”. What this means is that at the end of your treatment, the teeth may be straight but the edges may appear uneven. In order to address this, I would normally recommend some composite bonding along the edges of the teeth (see some cases below or aesthetic composite section) to improve symmetry and re-contour the teeth. Prior to doing this, many patients also like to whiten their teeth. This is a process called “align, bleach, bond” that has become increasingly popular over the past few years due to the wonderful aesthetic results and its conservative nature (no natural tooth is drilled away).
